Concert Photography: The Last Few Weeks
So over the last few weeks I’ve seen some pretty awesome concerts. As some of you may know Austin City Limits (ACL) rocked central Texas last month and I must say, it was incredible. There are not words to describe the massive scale of 7 stages and thousands of people packed into Zilker Park! Unfortunately as per their rules, I was not able to bring in my camera. If I ever go back, I just might have to get a press pass.
I say “if” only because while it was a fun, lifetime memory making event… the heat, size and standing outside for over 8 hours took away from the repeatability. Switchfoot was there this year and that is pretty much the reason my sisters and I went.
So to start of the pictures, here is Tenth Avenue North playing at Baylor University for their “Island Party.” Had a great time hanging out with some of my friends still at Baylor. They play a great live show, so especially if you are a fan of theirs, go see them live!

The night after that I saw Ty Mayfield play at Common Grounds (the most awesome coffee shop in Texas). I actually know Ty from up here at Dallas Baptist University. Met him at a school event, then realized he was in one of my classes! I’ve enjoyed listening to his music and getting to know him. Be sure to check out www.myspace.com/tymayfield for more info and find his EP “The Curveball” on iTunes!

These last photos were taken for DBU but they are kind enough to let me blog anything I shoot for them! This is the band Rush of Fools, very talented group from Alabama. They played a bunch of new songs for us from their upcoming album (which I think they are just starting to record)!

Family Vacation 2010: San Diego & La Jolla Pt. 3
I promise I am attempting to finish up a few of these vacation posts so we can move on to more exciting things ie. a wedding, new college events, some commercial work, etc.
On our amazing family vacation this summer we went to the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. For yet another year, Switchfoot, perhaps the most underrated band today (oh and my personal favorite) played there. As every good fanboy knows you must get there early to stand in line for front row. So that’s what we did.
Plus its easier to get great pictures from up close (couldn’t get a photopass this year!).
The next day we headed over to La Jolla, just to sightsee and enjoy the beautiful summer day. We walked on the cliffs, descended a musty stairwell to see the caves, watched the sea lions and seals; we did it all! Such a fantastic day.
Quick Update
Well, I’ve been very busy over the last few weeks… However soon I will post 2 senior sessions, 2 bands, and one family portrait! They will (hopefully) trickle their way to the blog over this next week.
For now… here is a concert teaser…
