A San Fransisco Christmas

So pretty much a month and a half later I’m finally taking the time to share my pictures from my family’s Christmas vacation out to San Fransisco. It was my first time in San Fransisco and I must say I really loved it! For some reason I did not picture it in my mind to be so urban. I knew it was a very influential city, but did not realize just how “big city” it really is. We did all the big sights and had a fantastic time. Here are the first three days, I have 2 more day’s worth of photos but decided they weren’t as interesting as these. icon wink A San Fransisco Christmas

DBU Baseball Media Guide Shoot

A few weeks ago I did a photo shoot for Dallas Baptist University’s Baseball Media Guide. It was a lot of fun dragging strobes around the baseball field for “posed action” shots. I’d light an area than have them do their thing in that spot. Got lots of pitching shots, catching shots, plus various fielding catches and throws before doing some group shots. Here are just a few of my favorites from the shoot. I had a great time hanging out with the guys and can’t wait to see them play this season. Thank you to Rachel Ledbetter and Emily Gardner, two of my co-workers in DBU Marketing, for helping me out with the lights, ideas, and keeping everything in line!

Concert Photography: The Last Few Weeks

So over the last few weeks I’ve seen some pretty awesome concerts. As some of you may know Austin City Limits (ACL) rocked central Texas last month and I must say, it was incredible. There are not words to describe the massive scale of 7 stages and thousands of people packed into Zilker Park! Unfortunately as per their rules, I was not able to bring in my camera. If I ever go back, I just might have to get a press pass.

I say “if” only because while it was a fun, lifetime memory making event… the heat, size and standing outside for over 8 hours took away from the repeatability. Switchfoot was there this year and that is pretty much the reason my sisters and I went. icon wink Concert Photography: The Last Few Weeks

So to start of the pictures, here is Tenth Avenue North playing at Baylor University for their “Island Party.” Had a great time hanging out with some of my friends still at Baylor. They play a great live show, so especially if you are a fan of theirs, go see them live!

The night after that I saw Ty Mayfield play at Common Grounds (the most awesome coffee shop in Texas). I actually know Ty from up here at Dallas Baptist University. Met him at a school event, then realized he was in one of my classes! I’ve enjoyed listening to his music and getting to know him. Be sure to check out www.myspace.com/tymayfield for more info and find his EP “The Curveball” on iTunes!

These last photos were taken for DBU but they are kind enough to let me blog anything I shoot for them! This is the band Rush of Fools, very talented group from Alabama. They played a bunch of new songs for us from their upcoming album (which I think they are just starting to record)!
